Jane Grigson Trust
Bursary
The Trust's Bursary Scheme was introduced
in 1999. The purpose of the awards is to encourage study and
research into aspects of the field of food and cookery.
Recipients of awards include:
1999
Rosalind Rappaport for a study
of the use of an improved design of solar oven by village
housewives in the Gambia
Gillian Riley for research into into the origins and significance
of edible letters of the alphabet in the still life paintings
of a small group of 17th century European artists
2000
Mary Beith for a survey of the surviving diet and cookery
in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland
2001
Michael Michaud for an investigation of present-day vegetable
and herb growing by immigrant communities in the UK
2002
Peter Lippitt to record the traditional food and cookery of
the area of Britain known as the Black Country
2003
Susan Weingarten for an interdisciplinary historical study
of the methods of food preparation in the Talmudic literature
Frances Short to examine the existing transmission of food
skills from one generation to the next in the UK
